Walk. Bike. Reno.

An urban design challenge focused on improving the walkability and bike-ability of downtown and midtown.

Participatory Journalism, Multimedia

Walk.Bike.Reno was an urban design challenge focused on improving the walkability and bike-ability of downtown and midtown.

Nearly 50 participants from several different groups and organizations, including the Regional Transportation Commission, City Council, Reno Police Department, Washoe County and various other stakeholders hit the streets to investigate obstacles to multi-modal transportation. They also interviewed people around downtown and midtown about their commuting habits and walking experiences around the area.

The investigation informed participants’ prototypes and solutions, which were presented to the group at the end of the event.

Hosted by UNR’s Reynolds School of Journalism graduate program, walk.bike.reno was held at the Discovery Museum on May 8, 2015.
